US actors Robert Knepper and Armin Amiri join ‘1st Born’, first Iran-Hollywood production.

US actors Robert Knepper and Armin Amiri joined Ali Atshani’s ‘1st Born’, the first Iran-Hollywood co-production, a report states.

The Hollywood actors signed to appear in the comedy project that will be directed by Ali Atshani from Iran, Variety magazine reported on Wednesday.

Best known for his role in ‘Prison Break’ (2005–2009, 2017), Knepper, 58, has also appeared in films such as ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ (2005), ‘Hitman’ (2007) and ‘Transporter 3’ (2008).

Born in Tehran and famous for his appearance in ‘The Wrestler’, Amiri has starred in movies such as ‘Factory Girl’ (2006), ‘Reservation Road’ (2007), ‘Karma Aur Holi’ (2009), ‘Passion Play’ (2010), and ‘Septembers of Shiraz’ (2015).

Earlier in August, Val Kilmer, William Baldwin and Jay Abdo signed to join the project, set to start shooting in Los Angeles next month.

Atshani has made movies such as ‘The President’s Cell phone’, ‘Wishbone’, and ‘Negar’s Role’. He has established himself as one of the top Iranian filmmakers.

The film is about a couple’s first pregnancy that faces complications. Both sides of their family must come together to manage the situation, but Ben’s father is an anti-American Iranian politician and Kate’s father is an American politician who takes a stickler stance against Iran.

‘1st Born’ will be produced by Sam Khoze in LA Independent Film and Entertainment in Hollywood and Iran.

Edwin Avaness is the associate producer of the movie in Hollywood and Pouria Nasserbakht is the associate producer in Iran.
